Pegasus was established by Oscar Hofman, trained in London by the world-famous astrologer John Frawley. Oscar holds the diplomas of Horary Craftsman and Craftsman Astrologer, he runs an astrology school and is the editor of Anima Astrologiae, a Dutch magazine dedicated to traditional astrology.

The name Pegasus refers to the myth of Perseus, the hero who cuts off the head of the monstrous Medusa. Medusa is the mythological symbol of lack of freedom and confusion coming from human subjectivity and desire nature. When Perseus cuts off Medusa's head, he kills this lower nature and frees Pegasus, the winged horse that arises from Medusa's blood.
